Moving Forward

Recently, Noel and I put together a fundraiser on Skip Heeter's boat. We hosted a Saturday sunset cruise on the Sylvan Spirit. We were pleasantly surprised when more than thirty people showed up to support our event. We cruised around Guemes Island and watched the sun set. Most of all, it was a wonderful time of fellowship with finger food potluck with everyone . There was an opportunity for people to put orders for baked goods. We raised $600.00 from this sunset cruise. Praise God!!

The cruise was windy but still fun!

We're leaving June 20th and the time is rapidly approaching. There is still a lot of preparation and planning we have to do but we know that God  will see us through it all. Noel and I are really excited but still nervous about traveling for the first time together and adjusting to a new culture for two months. Even though Noel and I both went to the Philippines on a mission trip with our youth group, preparing for this mission is a different story. This is our mission...we're leading it and it's a lot of pressure. However, we have many family and friends supporting us. We're so thankful and blessed to have our church family praying and encouraging us. I personally feel so blessed and confident in this journey knowing that there are people who want to know more about the trip and are committed to praying for us.

A Little Bit About Us

Hi, my name is Noel Heeter. I’m eighteen and very excited to go on this mission trip to Ghana. I
was adopted at the age of thirteen months. Honestly, the reason I am going to this mission trip
is that my father told me to. However, after much thought I came to the conclusion it will be a
good experience for me to get out of my comfort zone. Although I have been to the Philippines
and Biloxi, Mississippi for mission trips, I have never been to Africa. This is truly a once in a
lifetime experience. I look forward to sharing this experience with you!

Hello, I’m Lydia Dailey. If you don’t know me, I’m just one of sixteen children...this should give
you a clue! I’m eighteen years old and was adopted from Ghana at the age of ten. Having lived
here in America for eight years, I recently went back to Ghana for the first time with my Dad. I
can’t find the words to describe how amazing and awesome this trip was. I’m truly blessed.
Now, I’m preparing to return back to Ghana as a missionary with my friend, Noel Heeter on June
20, 2016. I can’t believe I’m going back so soon but this was not a spontaneous decision.
Because I don’t know what I want to do after graduation, I want to moo (oh,I’m sorry, I meant I
wanted to move out in faith). This mission trip will hopefully show me God’s calling in my life.
